the contents: img0.jpg and shellbrd.dll are in both folders.

c:\windows\winsxs\
the folder c:\windows\winsxs\ does not contain the folder: w44aa
both folders like in c:\w44aa are also in c:\windows\winsxs\

the contents seems to be different, with the same filenames.
img0.jpg is other that original (as explained)
shellbrd.dll has same size, another date.

So not xcopy done from c:\w44aa to c:\windows\winsxs\w44aa\
No access for making new folder w44aa.

I'll wait for instr.

The Advanced Boot Menu does not appear.
Windows 7 is booting normally.

Pick that option
You'll have to log in with your username and password.
Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
At the prompt type
DIR C:\w44aa
hit the enter key - if you get a 'Not Found' error try
DIR D:\w44aa
or
DIR E:\w44aa

The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>) into the following command...

XCOPY <drive>:\w44aa <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h

(e.g.XCOPY P:\wfire P:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h )

run the command (it should take almost no time)and when the prompt returns, type
EXIT

The Repair Environment does not come up. It is Windows 7 (just as it is) booting.
So XCOPY is not executed.

and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.
Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your reply

SFC /SCANNOW results were provided before.
Does not make sense with respect to Repair Environment, because this environment is not executed.

Post your results.

If necessary, take pictures that show any error messages you get and post them

No error messages.
Just normal boot, no Repair Environment on Compaq PC via F8 or any other Fn key I tried.

If you're still getting Normal Mode with tapping F8, it probably means that you're either not tapping rapidly enough, or you are starting to tap F8 too late in the boot process.

You MUST start tapping while the Black/white P screen shows - before Windows starts booting.

I know that by experience.
The PC just starts up in NORMAL mode, not in Repair Environment.

When I keep F8 pressed, there comes a bootup message stating the computer can not be booted.
In that case I get 2 options:
1. normal startup
2. boot system recovery
when I opt for this one the system tries to repair the PC via System Recovery and even restore points if required.

In other PC's: when pressing F8 I just get what you state.

This Compaq PC was delivered with Windows XP. American Megatrend BIOS v.3.24.
I upgraded the BIOS in the past, before installing a RETAIL version of Windows 7 Ultimate (x86).

What I get on the screen before the black screen appears before Windows is booting:

American Megatrends
[ESC] Boot - [F1] Setup - [F10] System Recovery
ESC and F1 is BIOS, bootsequence and bios setup.
F10 was for System Recovery from Windows XP on HD of the PC.
[F10] does not function because there is no System Recovery Partition.
