    Interesting.
    Is the USB connection to the monitor through a normal USB connector on the machine, or what?

    Yes, the monitor has 2 usb ports which are connected by a USB cable to the back of the desktop.
    Now the USB stick is in an Aluratek box that has 4 USB port and also an HDD slot, which is also connected to the back of the machine.

    O dear another thing just happened.
    I was doing a System Image and it failed saying:
    "The system cannot find the file specified. (0x80070002)"

    Could be either permissions, or the actual file missing.
    Does it say which file?

    (what System Imaging tool?)
