I see what the problem is:
The registry entries for the various services are missing the Value and data for the actual executable involved.
This is impractical to solve manually - and may fail anyhow.

I'm afraid that it's time to contemplate at least a repair install, and possibly a clean install.

In view of the fact that this is an OEM install, it's probably quicker to use the System Recovery options (after backing up your data to external storage) to do a clean install.

Sorry - but sometimes it's better to bite the bullet than to try and patch it.

What are System Recovery options and how to perform it?

Check your manual for details - basically, using the main option (full recovery) will reset the computer to the same state in which it left the factory.
How do I recover my system using ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery
OneKey Recovery 7.0 - System Recovery to Factory Default Condition Using Optical Disks
How to use the pre-boot service partition to recover your software
    etc..
    etc..

noticed this fact now..i had installed yeahBit pc speed on feb 24 and performed a registry cleaner as a part of the scan...this might have caused the problem...any other options to solve my problem other than system recovery?

Do you have any System Restore points that go back to before that?

Back up your data to external media

I'm going to try something that rather risky, but if it works, will save the reinstall.
I need to test it first -- back later

...second thoughts - there may be a ready-built fix.....

Please download http://kb.eset-la.com/library/ESET/KB%20Team%20Only/Malware/ServicesRepair.exe and save it to your desktop.
    Double-click ServicesRepair.exe
    If security notifications appear, click
Continue or Run and then click Yes when asked if you want to proceed.
Once the tool has finished, you will be prompted to restart your computer.
    Click Yes to restart.

    Then test again

that method didnt resolve the problem..
this is in reference to a post which had exactly same problem as mine..
    Windows 7 genuine problem.
in that there was certain set of commands which i executed..changed the error from system cannot find path specified to access is denied when i try to enter my product key using slui.exe 3 command.
    Code:
    sc create sppsvc binPath= %SystemRoot%\System32\sppsvc.exe DisplayName= "Software Protection" depend= Rpcss start= delayed-auto obj= "NT AUTHORITY\NetworkService" password= ""
    sc privs sppsvc SeAuditPrivilege/SeChangeNotifyPrivilege/SeCreateGlobalPrivilege/SeImpersonatePrivilege
    sc sdset sppsvc D:(A;;CCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRRC;;;SY)(A;;CCDCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRSDRCWDWO;;;BA)(A;;CCLCSWRPLOCRRC;;;IU)(A;;CCLCSWRPLOCRRC;;;SU)(A;;LCRP;;;AU)S:(AU;FA;CCDCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRSDRCWDWO;;;WD)
    sc sidtype sppsvc UNRESTRICTED
and back up is not possible at the moment because i dont have an external media right now..so will be ready with the backup after some days.
