Pre-Wddm 1.0 Intel driver 945 Express Driver thru Windows update

    Hi,
I'm a little confused by one of my update options. I was under the impression that windows 7 was using wddm 1.1, and that the wddm 1.0 drivers have been available for quite some time. I checked and the driver I have is wddm 1.0, released 10/28/2008, version number 8.15.10.1590. So why am I being given the option to update to 'pre-release wddm 1.0'? I tried to get more information to check the version number, but I am just redirected to Winqual Help , which doesn't help me any.

I'd like to test out the wddm 1.1 drivers, and I've read that they're available for 7, but I don't think that these are those drivers, unless there is a typo in the driver title.

    yes thats right....

wddm is just a driver model...
its up to the manufacture (here intel) to release wddm 1.1 driver
so until then (most likely they wont) they have to release a wddm 1.1

Windows Display Driver Model - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
that should be a good read....

what they mean pre-release means that these drivers are beta drivers (there is a difference between pre-release drivers and pre-release wddm 1.1 drivers)

    Hi,
Just a quick question from a noob to someone who may have more info & save me some time searching:

Has anyone out here in PC-land made a repository (or even a hot-link page) to the many & various "WDDM 1.x" sources? If not, it seems like a worthy endevor.

I have a Intel ITX motherboard with Atom processor and this integrated graphic card on it.
I have a 22" LCD screen and this driver do not support 1680x1050 resolution, only 1600x1200.
Does anybody have the same problem? In device manager it's a yellow triangle at the graphic card.

this should be a great repository for those graphics cards that are not supported or are not either Ati or Nvidia based
    Microsoft Update Catalog

To be honest i'd stick with downloading the latest driver from Intel and install with compatability for windows Vista. I too have the 945 express driver with the same update showing but i'm ignoring it so far as previous attempts to install have failed.

The Vista driver works perfectly well under Se7en with no errors or bugs, also, i can use the Graphics Media Accelerator Driver which allows me to configure the zoom & sharpness when I plug my 43" TV into it via S-Video.

I did it, and it's the same. Driver version is 7.15.
    Any idea now?

Only thing would be to re-install the Vista driver if you haven't already. Windows will show the dialog box asking if you wish to install an older driver but just choose yes. It worked fine for me so can't understand why it wouldn't for you.

That's exactly what I did. And the problem persists. I'll uninstall drivers and install them as upgrade from VGA.
