From the 'with' log....
It looks to me as if it doesn't believe that SP1 is installed - but reading that type of log is not my forte :)Code:Line 2: 2013-03-26 10:44:02, Error CBS SPI: (SPIRegQueryDWORDValue:413)Failed to query registry value: ComponentsRemoved er=0x2 Line 817: 2013-03-26 10:44:03, Error CBS SPI: (SPCVerifyTrust:1664)Failed to CryptCATAdminCalcHashFromFileHandle GLE=0x57 Line 825: 2013-03-26 10:44:03, Error CBS SPI: (SPIRegQueryDWORDValue:413)Failed to query registry value: UploadDisableFlag er=0x2 Line 827: 2013-03-26 10:44:15, Error CBS SPI: (SPIRegQueryDWORDValue:400)Failed to open the registry root: n/a, key: SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\ServicePack\SP1. er=0x2 Line 828: 2013-03-26 10:44:15, Error CBS SPI: (SPIRegQueryDWORDValue:400)Failed to open the registry root: n/a, key: SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\ServicePack\SP1. er=0x2 Line 829: 2013-03-26 10:44:15, Error CBS SPI: (SPIRegQueryDWORDValue:400)Failed to open the registry root: n/a, key: SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\ServicePack\SP1. er=0x2 Line 830: 2013-03-26 10:44:15, Error CBS SPI: (SPIRegQueryDWORDValue:400)Failed to open the registry root: n/a, key: SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\ServicePack\SP1. er=0x2 Line 835: 2013-03-26 10:44:22, Error CBS SPI: (CSPICbsClient::OpenPackage:227)Failed to open package with identity Microsoft-Windows-Foundation-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.7600.16385 hr=0x800f0805 Line 838: 2013-03-26 10:44:22, Error CBS SPI: (CSPICbsClient::OpenPackage:227)Failed to open package with identity Microsoft-Windows-ServerCore-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.7600.16385 hr=0x800f0805 Line 842: 2013-03-26 10:44:22, Error CBS SPI: (CSPCInstallTask::ApplicabilityScan:738)SP1 build 17514 pending install currently hr=0x80070bc9 Line 843: 2013-03-26 10:44:22, Error CBS SPI: (CSPCInstallTask::ApplicabilityScan:704)Failed to do an applicability scan of linked SP for package Windows6.1-KB976902-x64.cab hr=0x80070bc9 Line 844: 2013-03-26 10:44:22, Error CBS SPI: (CSPInstall::CompatibilityApplicabilityScan:1303)Failed in applicability check of task hr=0x80070bc9 Line 846: 2013-03-26 10:44:22, Error CBS SPI: (PerformSPInstallation:833)Failed to install SP using UI hr=0x80070bc9 Line 847: 2013-03-26 10:44:22, Error CBS SPI: (wmain:1105)Failed to perform SP installation hr=0x80070bc9 Line 850: 2013-03-26 10:44:28, Error CBS SPI: (SPIRegQueryStringValue:700)Failed to query registry value: MiscString2 er=0x2 Line 851: 2013-03-26 10:44:28, Error CBS SPI: (CSystem::GetMachineName:395)Failed to query machine name from RAC hr=0x80070002
Please upload the C:\Windows\Windowsupdate.log file, and I'll see if I recognise anything in there.
SP1 has never been successfully installed. I'm not sure if this is how win checks for it and then proceeds with the SP1 install. But it does seem win can not figure out if SP1 is needed or not.
I tried to uninstall SP1 with this command :
And I get error 0x800f0825 , ms technet says:Code:"dism /online /remove-package /packagename:Package_for_KB976932~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.17514"
"You are trying to uninstall a package that was installed on the computer and is now permanent. Therefore, this package cannot be uninstalled.
If you must uninstall this package, then use System Restore to restore the state of the computer back to before the package was installed."
So dism thinks SP1 is installed. This looks bad.
