Surely I don't have to download it again... will be 2hr 55 minutes on my connection. If ti's already installed, can't I find a checksur.exe or something?

If you deleted it (and removed t from the Recycle bin), then you'll have to download it again - otherwise just double-click on the file you already downloaded.

    Been there, done that!
I may be in bed by the time you've run it so I'll look at the results sometime tomorrow.
Please don't try to install IE10 again yet.

    Great - that's brought the error-count down to a manageable level :)

    Code:
    Unavailable repair files:
     servicing\packages\Package_37_for_KB2443685~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.0.mum
     servicing\packages\Package_for_KB2454826~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.2.0.mum
     servicing\packages\Package_for_KB2454826~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.2.0.mum
     servicing\packages\Package_37_for_KB2443685~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.0.cat
     servicing\packages\Package_for_KB2454826~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.2.0.cat
     servicing\packages\Package_for_KB2454826~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.2.0.cat
I'll post the fix for these later.

    I've uploaded a file - pm9ac.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive
    Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder pm9ac in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be one folder inside it (Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Great - that's got the CheckSUR errors all fixed now.

Please run another SFC /SCANNOW and post the new CBS.log - just in case that's brought any now problems to the fore.

If it comes back with a 'found no problems' message, go ahead and try installing IE10 again

Looks like there are still problems. Posting CBS.log. I tried reading the log... what mumbo jumbo.
