So should I try uninstalling that package?

I always used Illegitimi non Carborundum.

I uninstalled KB2722913. It didn't ask for a restart, but I restarted anyway. Went to Windows Update and only IE 10 was listed. Selected it and clicked on install. It worked! Windows Update now says my computer is up to date. Should I mark the thread as solved?

Well done! - I hesisted to suggest that, in view of cluberti's comment that a later update was installed.

That sounds like a plan :)
For completeness, would you please run through the posting instructions again, and post the new CBS folder? - it'll give us a chance to see if there's any residuals or new problems.

I'm betting that the later update(s) were supposed to remove the offending item and didn't. That's probably why a restart wasn't necessary.

I've attached the latest CBS folder and SFC says no integrity violations

The post-uninstall CBS log looks fine to me - CheckSUR shows only the 'expected' errors from the IE10 install, which MS is working on.

Should be resolved now, yes. The log only shows expected issues for IE10, but nothing that would cause your system any issues going forward.

Once you learn to read the CBS log, you'll be able to solve all kinds of interesting problems . Good to hear it's solved!

If uninstalling KB2722913 will allow the IE update to install correctly, I would like to do this, however, it is not obvious how to uninstall KB2722913 and reapply the IE 10 update. Could someone please list the steps required to implement this correction with emphasis on the "how"? Thanks!
