Sounds like your shortcut is corrupted.

right-click on your desktop. select 'New..' > Shortcut
    In the Location box, type
    %windir%\system32\cmd.exe
    click Nest
In the name box, type COMMAND PROMPT
    click OK
now right-click on the shortcut created, and in the 'Start in' box, type
    %HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%
    click OK

now right-click on the shortcut, and select Run as Administrator
    what happens?

That's the proper result - but you didn't select Run as Administrator, by the look of it.

now enter the commands as in my instructions #2
then copy/paste the results, as my instructions #3

    Hi mssch,

    Try this:

    1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
    2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
    3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

      SC QC MPSSVC
      SC QUERYEX MPSSVC

    4. Right-click on the Command Prompt window and click Select All, this will invert all of the colours by selecting the text, now press enter. All of this text is now copied.
    5. Paste (Ctrl+V) it into your next post please.
