jovannis you can download a Net Framework from Filehippo and install it but you can't do the download and install using the Microsoft web site. Is that correct?

I would be concerned that the System Update Readiness Tool would not install.

Is the OP's computer okay? Or is the problem just hidden?

    How does SFC scans look?

@jovannis, as a safety measure you must do malware scan. And can you post the name of the update alert you got?

jovannis these are my suggestion for the future.

When you have a problem with Microsoft/Windows Updates go here for help.

Windows Updates & Activation - Windows 7 Help Forums

There are members there that can help you.
If you can't download and use the tools they recommend their is a problem they can help you with.
My concern is you still have a problem that will raise up again.
I know I'm not qualified to help you with Activation and Windows Updates but I also know there are people at that above Form Thread posted will be able to help.

I recommend going to the Thread and explain the problem you had and what you have done. They will let you know if more steps are needed to make sure your Windows Update will work properly in the future. (Link to this thread)

I like Filehippo and I do use it but not for Windows Updates.
