Did the Windows 7 machines today, a 32 bit desktop, a 64 bit desktop and a 64 bit laptop, they all had 9 updates one of which was the Malicious Software Removal tool.
Everything installed and a reboot later everything working as it should and no problems.

I'm embarrassed to post this question but guess I gotta learn so, when I looked at my list of Updates yesterday there were 8 & all were checked. I didn't get around to doing any then so went back this morning to get started & found one now 'unchecked' with a yellow arrow saying "Download is pending". Have never run across this before.

Also, when I click on 'More info' for that one, KB2823324, the page that opens says KB2829996, which is also in the original list of 8. Guess I just don't understand updates.
    Thanks,
    grits
oops, forgot this, there's also an update for nVidia-Graphics Adapter. I thought I've read somewhere that it's not a good idea to do that kind of update through these 'Update Notices'. I also have a couple more in 'Optionals' of what I guess are drivers. ??? I'm not familiar with doing drivers.

I just tried installing on a system with Avast! 8 AV.
I got a lot of warnings and several files got quarantined.
I'm trying them on a system with MSE AV now...
I also have Avast! 8 and had no trouble installing them. The only problem was I had set my computer to download but wait for me to say when to install them and, somehow, that got reset and, when I shut down my computer to install a new optical drive, they got installed. I prefer to wait a few days before installing in case there is a problem with one (rare but it happens).

There was never any official statement from Avast! (that I know of) that it was caused by a FP definition problem, but other people did see the same issue as me.
I think they quickly fixed it with a Streaming update.

    No Problems Here R5

2009 Toshiba, 32 bit WY Ultimate,1.79 ghz, 2G RAM, Avasti( Free ) and MSE both active, also active Spyblaster.

Had IE10 and all previous updates installed. Like some others here, I start with office or windows 7 then move on too smaller security updates working my way to the largest one last.

I only do one at a time. This time consuming but since I'm relatively new to PC's and have never gone to previous restore point myself, I tend to be extra careful in watching for any problems that do and have occurred for some PC's users over the last year if not every year.

So I just did last one and IE10, MS word, and Outlook all working ok. After on of the security udpates I did have to wait a longer than usual amount of time for it to get beyond the windows logo. Began to wonder but I know from years of computer use it pays to be patient on these critical occasions.
