Yes Tom that's what I was trying to convey, it states in compatability but it's the same one you've hyperlinked...? I'll try again when I get home. Thanks.

Tom, same install exception "Not applicable to your computer"

For the sake of it I downloaded x86 version and received the same exception.

    I never give up
... just had to work for a living occasionally :)

This is a fairly complex problem, and I need to review it... give me 48 hours to get back to you then SHOUT!

That's OK - I haven't forgotten you, but I've been overtaken by real life!

    Back later (hopefully today!)

Sorry about the inaction - real life keeps getting in the way!

Please copy the following file to your desktop, and then upload it to a reply - I'll see if it's any different to mine.

    C:\Windows\servicing\Packages\Package_11_for_KB2729094~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.0.cat

Noel, there was a 6.1.1.0.cat and a 6.1.2.0.cat, so I am sending them both... not sure if that matters.

I've got both variants here (one of the advantages of being an early-adopter :)) - but thanks for the thought!
I'm wondering whether there's some kind of file corruption, or perhaps a dodgy timestamp in the registry somewhere.
