    Hi Colin,

    That's a shame. Can you try reinstalling IE9 please?

    How do I install or uninstall Internet Explorer 9?

    You could also try Option Three here: Windows Update - Reset
    It has all the registry changes in one neat file.

    The basic problem appears to relate to a number of similar errors....
    Code:
     Line 61143: 2013-04-23 06:41:11, Error CSI 00000442 (F) Impactful transactions are disabled at this time, cannot continue.[gle=0x80004005]
     Line 61144: 2013-04-23 06:41:11, Error                 CSI    00000443 (F) HRESULT_FROM_WIN32(ERROR_FAIL_REBOOT_REQUIRED) #15696852# from Windows::COM::CPendingTransaction::IStorePendingTransaction_Pend(...)[gle=0x80070bc9]
     Line 61145: 2013-04-23 06:41:11, Error                 CSI    00000444@2013/4/22:20:41:11.503 (F) d:\win7sp1_gdr\base\wcp\componentstore\com\transaction.cpp(290): Error HRESULT_FROM_WIN32(ERROR_FAIL_REBOOT_REQUIRED) originated in function Windows::COM::CPendingTransaction::IStorePendingTransaction_Pend expression: HRESULT_FROM_WIN32(3017L)
     Line 61147: 2013-04-23 06:41:12, Error SXS Required Pend Transaction failed with 0x80070bc9
    These relates to the following error
    Code:
    2013-04-23 06:56:32, Info CBS Startup: Package: Package_for_KB2661254~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.3 completed startup processing, new state: Staged, original: Staged, targeted: Installed. hr = 0x80071a90
    It looks to me as if the installation of that update was interrupted during the reboot, and the pending.xml file deleted in error.

    Can you check the Installed Updates listing and see if KB2661254 is listed? If so, please attempt to uninstall it.
    What happens?
