    Changing Win 7 OEM Install


    Is there a way to change a Win 7 OEM setup to install on a different computer or change the computer's OEM info so that the install will work?

    I don't think so. It sounds like this would be against the EULA for OEM.

    I have a Dell Win 7 OEM install disk and have an Asus laptop running Win 8. Want Win 8 gone and replaced with Win 7.

    The best you can legally do is get something that will make Windows 8 become nearly identical to Windows 7 (perhaps with a little bit of work, maybe not much):


    I feel like I'm missing a couple, but these are among the best.

    If the OEM disc has never been used for an installation, you can use it on your Asus. But if it cam from a Dell system, it is a no go.

I tried doing this the other night by following this: Secondary Harddrive question - - Storage but it messed a lot of shortcuts etc up. I just want it so when I go to install a new program it will automatically point to my D drive, is doing only that possible? If so, which one do I change? Thanks.

Changing Motherboard, Same Install?

So I had a motherboard die on me recently. I'm running Win7 ultimate on it. My plan was to just replaced the mobo, so that I won't have to deal with new install, but they don't make p4 boards anymore lol. So I'm gonna go from an ABIT IC7 / P4 to a Gigabyte GA-G41M-ES2L with Pentium Dual core...
Everything automatically downloads to Program Files (x86), and I don't have a problem with that. It's a game. The base game and all four expansions install to (x86) but the file I need to install with the game installs automatically to Program Files and does not offer the option to change where...
