    Windows not genuine help!

I'll try to make this quick. I bought my desktop off ebay and everything worked great until I messed up the cloning of the ssd to a larger drive. I then just reinstalled windows off and iso I downloaded since I didn't get a copy of windows with the computer. I entered the product key that magic jellybean key finder gave me and everything was great for a month or so. Then the black screen and not genuine messages. I emailed the guy I got the computer from and he assures me that its a legit copy and to call Microsoft if needed. Sounds like a pain in the ass to me so I thought I run this by here and see what everyone has to say about it. Here is a copy of the report to check out. Let me know if I left something out.

    krypto2962 welcome to SevenForums

The product key you're using belongs to an ACER OEM Windows 7 Key. You have a custom built PC. Please purchase a legit Windows 7 Key and reinstall Windows

Another thing you have a Retail Motherboard that shouldn't be having any OEM SLP keys. I recommend purchasing a Windows 7 Product either from Newegg.com or a local PC store. You could check Best Buy or Staples see if they have any Windows 7 in stock.

Before I go any further I should probably make note that I know just enough about computers to get my self in trouble! That being said, what does that mean? I don't know if it will help any but I still have the original instal of windows on the ssd that came with the computer. It will not boot because the boot files went to some magical place that I'm unaware of. Is it possible the magic jellybean key finder gave me the wrong key and the old one is still available on the old ssd?

The key that is being picked up is from an OEM SLP . You have a retail motherboard . That should have either a System builder's key or a retail key .

Did you build the PC yourself ? Or you purchased it from Craigslist or Ebay ?

Yes it is a legit copy for ACER PCs not for your Retail board.

My recommendation is don't buy a PC from Ebay or Craigslist . Build it yourself . This way you know what you're getting.

OK lets try this shot in the dark. I disconnected the new ssd with windows that I installed from an iso I downloaded and installed the original that came with the computer. Here is the report from the old drive. I don't know if this will be any different but its my last ditch effort!

Same key you had on your SSD . The key belongs to an Acer while you have a retail motherboard .
