Windows 7 Updates fail to install

    Hello all,

I run into a problem that needs some expert help, being unable to solve it by myself.
My windows 7 (64bits) show that there are 10 important updates ready to be installed.
They are essentially security updates for various components of Office 2007.
When I give the OK to update windows update run the update process then shows update install fails for all of them.
There are errors Code 52F, 89B and 643.
When I try to resolve the problem by running Fix It from Windows update help, it cannot run either, displaying error 0x80004005.
When I search this error it takes me to a window that is related to residential group sharing?
    Anyone help me please.
    Thank you.

Try to run the updates individually instead of bunched all together.

Hello, WHS, I've unchecked them all but one to update and it fails as well (all of them, one after another). I get around the problem by downloading them manually, 10 updates, (and not with Windows Update) and installed them successfully. The problem is now there are 25 updates signaled by windows updates! I'll try to run SFC SCAN and SURT suggested by NoelDP's post. Thank you.

Hmm, looks like they got corrupted during the initial download. But that is not neccessarily going to happen with the next bunch. If it does, then you have to dig deeper.

I've run SURT and the updates for windows 7 are installed OK but the ones for Office 2007 still fail to install.
I'm running SFC /scannow and will keep you posted on the issue.
    Thanks.

    Here is the latest news:
SFC /Scannow results in finding some files with problems and they are corrected, but the windows updates for office 2007 still fail.
I got to download manually all the updates (28) and manual install. May be the updates are 32 bits and my W7 is a 64 bits?
