Error 800B0100 when trying to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1

I have tried multiple ways to resolve this problem (System Update Readiness Tool, SFC scan, Microsoft Fix it, manual installation, etc.) but to no avail.

When I try to install the Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x64-based Systems (KB976932) via Windows Update, the installation fails with an error code 800B0100.

When I tried to manually install the SP, an error message appeared with details: "trust_e_nosignature (0x800b0100)."

I am pretty frustrated considering the number of unsuccessful attempts and time I've thrown into fixing this problem. So, hoping that it will be addressed here, I have attached my CheckSUR log. Please let me know if any more information is needed.

I'll post a fix protocol for them later - in the meantime, please run an SFC /SCANNOW, and post the CBS.log so we can see if anymore files need fixing as well.

Good - the SFC scan is clear, at least.
There are however a large number of errors related to the attempt to install SP1 - I hope most of them will go away after the fix I'll be posting in a few minutes.

    I've uploaded a file - ymkaa.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive
    Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder ymkaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be two folders inside it (Manifests, and Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

And the content of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Once completed, please also run another SFC /SCANNOW and post the new CBS.log file so we can see if this has highlighted any new problems.

I've attached the updated CBS folder containing the new CheckSUR and CBS logs.

UPDATE: Windows Update successfully installed the Service Pack! Thank you so much, Noel. I am so glad that I decided to post my problem here on SevenForums.

Inferring that the Service Pack installed without any problems, I will mark this thread as solved. Once again, thank you.

Yep - all seems good now - and the fact that SP1 installed is a good sign :)

    Good luck.
