Error 80070490 when doing Windows Update

    Hi there

We have an error every time we did the Windows Update for Windows 7 SP1 for x64-based Systems (KB976932).

We have the posting instruction as follow:

    1. We did the SURT and complete.
    2. We also did "sfc /scannow" and no found any errors
    3. Error Code: 80070490 - Windows Update encountered an unknown error.
    4. Try to attached the zip file for Windows Logs\CBS - it has 24MB after compression. We can split the file BUT it won't allow to submit due to it has something like CBS.zip.01.

So we've uploaded into our Dropbox public site - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...Forums/CBS.zip

    I'm appreciated your help.

Please remove the oldest two or three 'CBSPersist' files from the zip, and post the remainder - or split the zip down into chunks of <8MB and post them separately.

Thanks for this. We've decided to do via Dropbox cause we have timeout all the time from the site. Here's the link to download - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...Forums/CBS.zip

I had a heck of a time with yesterdays updates. They kept failing. I had to repair .NT twice in order to get them all installed. It took me about two hours.

Gary this might help. I do things in stages and do restarts whether requested or not.
I did this on two computers and had no problems.
