    Activation problem

    Hello,

I would appreciate any thoughts or help in following :

My OS was in pretty bad shape and I wanted to reinstall it but I don`t have my installation disk anymore. So I wrote down my Product ID and Product key and downloaded a new legal version of Windows 7 Home premium 64bit - the same type that I had previously. After that I did clean install which worked fine until I tried to activate product.

After few tries I realized that there is different Product ID written down in the `my computer` specs. Now there is Product ID: 00359-OEM-xxxxxxx-xxxxx. The original Product ID was 55041-OEM-xxxxxx-xxxxx. The problem is that the Windows system is the same so why it doesn`t have the same Product ID?

Do you know where can I get the installation ISO for my Windows according to the Product ID that I have? Or what do you suggest? I am pretty confused about it.

    Thank you in advance.
    Martin

You're reinstalling with the Product Key on COA sticker for a PC that came with this same licensed version preinstalled?

If so make sure you're inputting the correct characters which is the cause for most activation failure. Otherwise start over and follow these steps in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. Everything you need is there to get and keep and perfect install.

If not explain what you've done to activate.

Oh man. You were right. I had wrong key. I put the one that was on the sticker and `voila`, system activated.

    Thank you very much!
