Disk is upgrade edition. I never received a key from my work, I had presumed (and was led to believe) that the existing Vista key would be used. Should I have received a new key for the 7 install? That would certainly explain my problems, especially if what I'm attempting to do is usually successful.

    Attachment 278338

They have to give you a valid key code for it to activate

You can run what you have for 30 days right now, pending a valid key code.

Did the DVD come in a case ? The only types of upgrade DVDs are retail DVDs that come in a DVD case . What did your work give you ?

Ahh bollocks. I distinctly remember them saying it was not needed and as this was an upgrade edition a key would not be required. In fact it's marked in bold. *Sigh* the fact that this is sheer fantasy does not suprise me, par for the course with them unfortunately.

Many thanks to you both for your time and apologies for wasting it on such a trivial problem. ++rep to you both.

No physical media at all, merely an image to burn.

You should ask your work place to give you a key with the purchase .
