Here's the errors from the CheckSUR log....
They are all from IE9 - so it's not surprising that IE10 is complaining :)Code:Unavailable repair files: winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ieframe_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.16441_none_d92b0b0980d303d6.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ie-winsockautodialstub_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.16441_none_64b36fb0307e5b1d.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-i..ersandsecurityzones_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.20546_none_29fa5482c297045d.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ie-htmlediting_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.20546_none_bd40260e2f31ddfe.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ie-htmlrendering_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.16441_none_87cbb105f4dd75a9.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ie-ieshims_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.20546_none_bca46c9c86061bdd.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ie-extcompat_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.16441_none_b1384a6ca94e00a7.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-i..nternetcontrolpanel_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.20546_none_0450e2b73da5a981.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-i..ersandsecurityzones_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.16441_none_296bb645a97de5e0.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ie-winsockautodialstub_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.20546_none_65420ded4997799a.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-i..tocolimplementation_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.20546_none_770030248da02af0.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ie-runtimeutilities_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.20546_none_bcbae7007851494d.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ie-devtools_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.20546_none_b0bc49772ba37731.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-i..nternetcontrolpanel_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.16441_none_03c2447a248c8b04.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ie-htmlrendering_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.20546_none_885a4f430df69426.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ie-devtools_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.16441_none_b02dab3a128a58b4.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ie-versioninfo_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.16441_none_73ae7d9307ae195c.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ie-extcompat_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.20546_none_b1c6e8a9c2671f24.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ie-ieshims_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.16441_none_bc15ce5f6cecfd60.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ie-versioninfo_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.20546_none_743d1bd020c737d9.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ie-runtimeutilities_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.16441_none_bc2c48c35f382ad0.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-ie-htmlediting_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.16441_none_bcb187d11618bf81.manifest winsxs\manifests\amd64_microsoft-windows-i..tocolimplementation_31bf3856ad364e35_9.4.8112.16441_none_767191e774870c73.manifest
I'll post a fix for them later.
The errors are related to what issue? I would like to understand a bit as this has been causing a lot of pain lately.
What exactly in IE9 is causing this issue? Thanks a lot for your help Noel
Regards,
Adil
I've uploaded a file - mogaa.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive
Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder mogaa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be one folder inside it (Manifests, )
Copy the content of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:
C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests
Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)
Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.
The problem appears to be that at some point an update had reserved file names for the manifest files it needed to create, but never actually put data into them -possibly due to a forced shutdown, or some form of corruption.
Hi Noel,
Have attached the latest update check logs.

Adil
