    Hello malon015,

Sorry for the delay! I was on holiday and got back yesterday. It's been a while since your last set of logs so I would like to get some fresh ones before we continue :)

Can you zip up your CBS folder and attach it to your post please, as well as your WindowsUpdate log?

    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS
    C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log

    Hi malon015,

Strangely, your CBS log is useless here. Usually that's the one with the most information but we're going to have to work off the WindowsUpdate.log instead.

    Tom - that's only v.226, rather than the v.256 that's currently failing
I don't believe there's an officially available download of v.256?

Oops! Let's try replacing the lot manually then, hopefully that would narrow it down to a registry problem.

I went to reboot the computer and noticed the yellow shield telling me that Windows would be installing updates at shutdown. I thought I'd check the Windows Update history again. See attached. Same two updates installing over and over every day.
