Windows Update error 9C59 when updating Internet Explorer 10

    Hi Guys,

I am new to the forum so sorry if this thread is not as it should be.

I have spent a while researching the above issue and there has been a number of these issues brought up and I have seen that you guys are very experienced in this field so would like to pick your brains if I may.

I understand this issue is generally different every time it pops up, unfortunately I have looked through the CBS log and cannot see which of the many errors are the cause for the Internet Explorer 10 update 9C59 issue.

I have attached the logs suggested and would really appreciate any help with this.

Oh! I have tried using the stand alone IE 10 installer but this failed also.

    Thanks

    Hi revsie,
I've got this exact problem as well, working my way through it on another thread. Although seemingly common, I get the feeling that this 9C59 error is relatively new, and a real *&#% to fix.

Patience is a virtue here, but if I may ask, what error number shows in your Windows event viewer? I'm curious as to if it's the same as mine, which is 0x80070643.

    Hi Greg,

You are right this is a real pain. I fix computers everyday but this one has got me stumped!

Unfortunately this computer is at work, if I pass by I will pop in and find out the code otherwise it will be Monday.

I have tried a system restore to the earliest point which was about a month before but this didn't help.

    Good luck!

    Hi Greg,

I have just checked the laptop and I have the same error code as you.

Have you managed to resolve this?
