    IE10 updating failed, code 9c48

    Hi to all!

My problem is very similar to many others, described on the forum. So, while updating IE 10 through Windows Update Center I've got error with code 9C48. Here is what I have in event viewer: "Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070643: Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7" That is the only one updating, that cuoldn't be installed, all of the others updates installing successfuly. I try to do everything, but nothing helps=(

I make a zip copy of CBS folder, and attached it to post. I will be grateful for any help! Thanks in advence!
    Paul

I'm having a problem sourcing one of the files - ieproxy.dll - as it was already superceded when IE10 went RTM.I'll have to download a few more patches and see if I can find it.
    Back later :)

    Found it :)

    I've uploaded a file - imdaa.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive
    Please download and save it.

Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract
Close all windows (it would be a good idea to print these instructions!)
Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'
    Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.

Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
    At the prompt type
    DIR C:\imdaa
hit the enter key - if you get a 'Not Found' error try
    DIR D:\imdaa
    or
    DIR E:\imdaa

The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>) into the following command...

    XCOPY <drive>:\imdaa <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h

    (e.g.XCOPY P:\wfire P:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h )

run the command (it should take almost no time)and when the prompt returns, type
    EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.

Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your SkyDrive Public folder, and post a new link

Also run a new MGADiag report, and post the result.

    The MGADiag appears clear
The SFC scan still shows a few errors....

Ah - it was my fault... I seem to have got a faulty version number in there..

    DIR C:\imdab
hit the enter key - if you get a 'Not Found' error try

    or
    DIR E:\imdab

The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>) into the following command...

No hurry - I have a real life as well (sorta, at least!) :)

According to the SFC scan, the repair worked (I think, anyhow).

Please reboot, then attempt the install of IE10 again - what happens this time?
