Windows 7 Home Premium Validation errors..

Hey guys new to the forums and have been searching through them trying to find a solution for the past few weeks.

Basically I have an Asus laptop that had a hard drive failure a little while ago and I was forced to replace the drive. In doing this I had to reinstall windows 7 using a copy from a friend as I never had one since it came with my laptop. The key is printed on the bottom which I typed in, it installed everything was fine for say a week. Now it wants me to validate, i've done this probably 5 times already using the automated phone system over the past 2 weeks and it just keeps coming back.

Well now i've given up activating it and just let me windows run thinking its not genuine and some help would be great! I have heard it will want you to activate if there is a hardware change but the hard drive swap was the only change made.

    Regards

    telephone activation (operator calls)
    Click on the Start button
    in the Search box, type
    SLUI 4
    and hit the Enter key
follow the instructions, but when asked which service you require by the telephone ansafone, do NOT reply - this should force an operator to respond, who can deal with you

All they do is tell me to contact support and give me the run around. Last time I called they said they didn't know the issue and kept trying to give me the code to activate windows which is less than useless to me at the moment.

What is the make/model of machine?

The problem is that Windows thinks that the hardware has changed significantly - which requires a code from an Activation operator to refresh the licensing.

    You could try this...

    Recreate the Licensing Store
Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories
Right-Click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator - accept the UAC prompt
Run the following commands in the Command Prompt window, using the Enter key at the end of each

    net stop sppsvc
(wait until the service has stopped before entering the following lines)

    CD %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
    REN tokens.dat tokens.bar
    net start sppsvc
    slui.exe

After a couple of seconds the Windows Activation dialog will appear.
You may be asked to re-activate and/or re-enter your product key, or Activation may occur automatically.
If you are asked for your Key, use the one on the COA sticker on the machine's case

Reboot and Post back with a new MGADiag report.

(Note: the Line 'CD %win......\SoftwareProtectionPlatform' is all on one line - it may be broken in the Forum listing)

Hi sorry for the late reply I have been without the laptop for a while I still have the activation issues after trying all the above information. Unfortunately now when I try to reactivate i have to call microsoft because i've supposedly activated to many times and they are less than helpful...Is there anything else I can possibly try as I am currently using windows that is claiming its not genuine because I got sick of activating it 4 times a week!

Please post a new MGADiag report.

What security software are you using?
    What tweaking/optimising/registry tools are installed?
What other problems are you having?

No security software currently installed Microsoft security essentials. Currently no registery tools or anything, in the past on the old HDD I had to use them once or twice but this is a brand new HDD. Only things on it are some movies and tv shows, two games and microsoft office. I did have to install a lot of drivers so my keyboard shortcut functions would work. But thats about it.
