Windows Updates Appear to Install, But Keep reappearing

    Hello,

I am an instructor at a non-profit and am in charge of managing two computer labs. Three of my computers are not completing the Windows 7 security fix update installs. When I search for available updates, it locates them fine; choose install and it appears to install them fine, but says "More updates available." When I choose the "more updates..." link, it goes back to the updates window and bam, there they are again as if I did nothing.

I observed that the shut down button has the yellow shield for available updates. I tried using that to install the updates several times and it says it's installing them, but once the computer starts up again, there they are again.

Our computers are donated, so it is occuring on two Lenovos and a Dell. Computers are maybe 4 years old or so, the Lenovos might be a bit older. All 32-bit, all desktops.

I have tried running CCleaner, virus scans, etc., as I was having trouble with updates getting stuck a month back and running the cleaner seemed to fix it.

I have taken the necessary preliminary steps suggested prior to creating this thread and have saved the CBS file, whatever that will do.

    There are no error messages.

No one has any thoughts on this one? I was really hoping this would be the place to turn for this issue.
