Windows 7 suddenly says not genuine, updates not working

Suddenly started getting warnings that windows 7 was not genuine...it is. Bought at Best Buy.
I've tried many things I've found but none seem to work.
    Uninstalled the kb that notifies.

Here's the log...it says files tampered with but I compared them to another computer and they are fine.

    thanks for any help

This may simplybe caused by a bad set of Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers -

    Installing theIntel Rapid Storage Drivers

try downloadingand installing them from here - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=22194

    (you want theiata_enu.exe download)

Once complete, please reboot twice, then post another MGADiag report.

Sorry I didn't mention...I tried that already. It said the driver was not compatible with my system.

I also ran the commands you posted elsewhere to check permissions on the files and they seemed to be good.

    That worked.

I rebooted twice and ran the utility again.

Hmm - didn't solve the problem, though

Installing the WAT update will give us a little more data to work on...

    install the updatefrom http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971033

    Reboot

run another MGADiagreport, and post it.

Once complete, please reboot twice, then attempt validation at www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate and then post another MGADiag report.

the kb would not install...just a simple box popped up that installation failed.

I've noticed now there are lots of messages in my event logs. Mostly pertaining to things that write to a database.
Problems with Catroot2, Capi, windows search. The errors are all saying there are problems creating databases or writing indexes etc.
I can't help but think these are related to my issue.

I cleared catroot2 and rebooted, no change.
    uninstalled windows search.

OK - let's try this, first....

This can resultfrom mistakenly setting the System32 folder and its contents to 'Read Only'status.

    Open WindowsExplorer (Computer)

    Navigate to the C:\Windows folder

Find the System32 sub-folder and right-click on it

    select Properties

Clear the 'blob'from the 'Read-only (Only applies to files infolder)' box by clicking on it until it's plain white.

    Click on Apply.

Make sure thatthe radio button for 'Apply changes to thisfolder, subfolders and files' is set, and click OK.

Accept theAdministrator prompt. After a couple of seconds, you'll be told there is anerror - click on the 'Ignore all' button.

Wait for it tofinish - it could take a couple of minutes.

    OK out, and exitWindows Explorer.

    Reboot twice
