    800B0100 error - on new install of windows 7 ultimate N x64


    Hi , i hope i do this correctly following the guides on the forums :)

    Ive just bought and installed windows 7 ultimate N which includes SP1 and used the x64 disc,the install went fine and i authenticated online the same day,now when i try to update windows im getting the 800B0100 error,ive visited MS website and ran the SURT and it had no effect,ive ran SFC scan and collected the logs which i have attached (hope that worked ok)

    I hope you can help me fix this error

    Windows Update Package Replacement

    Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

    1. Please download the attached file, WUA_64.zip and save this to your Desktop.
    2. Right-click on the file and select Extract All...
    3. Tick the box labelled Show extracted files when complete then click Extract
    4. A window will open showing two folders, Manifests and Packages
    5. Open the Manifests folder and copy the files into the following folder (if there are any files)

      C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

    6. Open the Packages folder and copy the files into the following folder (if there are any files)

      C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

    7. Run the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) again
    8. When the SURT finishes installing, copy (Ctrl + C) and paste (Ctrl + V) the contents of the SURT log into your next post please:

      C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.persist.log

    I do have another problem with this new install, it wont let me install the windows media feature pack,windows geuine advantage tells me that "this version is no longer supported and to download the lastest version,also to check my system clock is accurate" im downloading that direct from MS site so id pressume that WAS the lastest version of WGA ?

    If i have to make a new thread about this please tell me and i will :)

    Where did you get your Windows license from? I've never come across a product ID like this. It's nothing of concern, I'm just curious more than anything :)

    Hi tom, i bought it from a clan mate online , it came in a sealed wrapper so i didnt think there would be any problems,i dont know where he got it from but he said he thought his new laptop came with windows 8 so he bought 7 then the laptop arrived with 7 installed so didnt need the extra copy
