    Windows Update error

It seems I'm having problems with installing the most recent (today's) updates regarding Microsoft Office.

I apologize if this is the wrong section (and request to be moved to Microsoft Office section if needed).

    I'm consistently getting
Code 8007006E Windows Update encountered an unknown error
The 3 updates I'm having problems are :
Update for Microsoft Filter Pack 2.0 (KB2810071) 32-Bit Version
Update for Microsoft Office 2010 (KB2760598) 32-Bit Version
Update for Microsoft OneNote 2010 (KB2810072) 32-Bit Version

Tried using Microsoft Fix It to resolve Windows Update Components was no success either (I tried manually resolving, but somehow, when re-registering some process, it appears to not be able to locate).

I also tried manually going to Microsoft download page to manually download the patches themselves (since I have 64-bit, I might as well try those one too).

32-bit - An error occurred while running detection.
64-bit - There are no products affected by this package installed on this system.

Are all these errors displaying simply because I'm using Microsoft Office Plus 2010?

    edit :
Installed & ran SURT details, please see attached

One question though, should I reset pc after installing SURT?
    This scan was made un-reset.

edit2 : CBS.zip file size is over 8 MB, should I upload it elsewhere? Nvm, found out why it was so huge, there were many cbspersist.cab's. Fixed & uploaded

edit3 : Reset comp & re-ran scan, attached zip as cbs2, some things couldn't be fixed according to commmand line.

Sorry - I seem to have missed your post in the rush!
    From your CheckSUR log

    I've uploaded afile - ip8aa.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive

    Please downloadand save it.

Right-click onthe downloaded file, and select Extract all…

Extract to thedefault location - which will create a new folder ip8aain the same place.

Open this folder- there should be one folder inside it (Manifests,)

Copy the content of the manifestsfolder (.manifest files) into this folder:

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Nowrun the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Postthe new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

    Thanks for the reply.

I've downloaded the file, however, I don't seem to have that folder destination.
my Windows\Temp is empty (Hide protected operating system files unticked)

Windows\CheckSur exists, however, there's no Winsxs, instead, a folder v1.0 with .cab zip files.

Should I copy the manifest file in CheckSur or v1.0?

    Thanks again.

    Neither.
You must copy it into the folder I specified, or the system will not be able to find it.
Are you using some form of cleanup utility?

You can always create the folders manually, and then copy the files into them - or run CheckSUR again, and then do the copy (without rebooting), and run CheckSUR again.

Yes, CCleaner opens amongst other programs in Task Scheduler.

I've created the file path manually & running scan now, I'll edit with the new cbs log when it's done.

edit : Still same error, Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix them

The new cbs has been attached.

I have a weird feeling this should be in my Windows/CheckSur folder. Inside v1.0, every .cab zip file contains the folders :
    Servicing
    Winsxs

Inside Winsxs folder, Manifests folder and a bunch of manifest files inside

CCleaner often deletes Temp folder contents on startup (check it's settings and see) disable that function (or disable CCLeaner completely), then run CheckSUR again - and you should find the required folders.
then do the copy/paste, and run CheckSUR again.

Sorry, I've been busy the past few days.

edit : Cancelled the last scan to run a new scan.

    1. I've placed servicing+Winsxs in Windows\Temp
    2. Manually created CheckSur inside Temp & copied those folders inside
    3. Copied folders inside Windows\CheckSur folder

I hope this doesn't cause any troubles having them in more than 1 place.
I wanted to do 3 separate scans but, I decided to combine them into 1 scan to save time.

edit2 : I'm adding the new manifest file now & scanning now, will upload cbs2

    cbs2 now uploaded

There's a single error in the first CBS.log....
    Code:
     Line 7097: 2013-09-28 12:25:14, Info CSI 00000312 [SR] Repairing 1 components
Line 7098: 2013-09-28 12:25:14, Info CSI 00000313 [SR] Beginning Verify and Repair transaction
Line 7099: 2013-09-28 12:25:14, Info CSI 00000314 [SR] Cannot verify component files for Microsoft.VC80.OpenMP, Version = 8.0.50727.4053, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_INTEL (0), Culture neutral, VersionScope neutral, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b}, Type = [l:10{5}]"win32", TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral, manifest is damaged (FALSE)
That carries through to the second - there are no other significant errors.
Hopefully, running CheckSUR should solve that - it will at least give us the proper filenames required.

Thanks for your help so far.

It looks like CCleaner was ran again, but I've already re-created the folders & files and just about to finish 2nd scan.
Running 3rd scan now. Now uploaded as well

I noticed there's one cbspersist that's inside the cbs folder, marked last modified 11/09/2013 and then 28 & 29/09/2013, is this normal to see a jump like that?
Should I be deleting any of these?

And also, I'm starting to see weird things. Should I reset after the scan?
Example : When browsing to look for files, the file icons are all missing, only showing the names of the files.
