Windows Update Fails to Install: error codes 800B0100 and 9C47

Hello. I have tried my best to do everything recommended here to solve the issue of failed installments of windows updates:

Fix: Windows Updates fail to install in Windows 7 | 8

Obviously, I haven't been successful. I am not very good with computers, so I would appreciate your patience as you help me with this problem.

    Thank you for your help.

The CBS log is a mess - which is to be expected with that number of problems.

I'll post a fix protocol later.

    I've uploaded afile - unkaa.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive

    Please downloadand save it.

Right-click onthe downloaded file, and select Extract all…

Extract to thedefault location - which will create a new folder unkaain the same place.

Open this folder- there should be two folders inside it (Manifests, and Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to thefolder

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

Andthe content of the manifestsfolder (.manifest files) into this folder:

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Nowrun the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Postthe new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

Thank you very much Noel, for working on this. Sorry it took me awhile to respond as my wife has been gone on a trip and I've been having to be mom and dad for my 3 kids.

    Here are the CheckSUR files.

    No problem :)
The CheckSUR log now shows clear.

Please run another SFC /SCANNOW so we can make sure that nothing new is reported. If it comes back 'nothing found', then do a manual Check for Updates, and attempt installation of the oldest offered update and see how it goes.

Hi Noel. I have been trying to work on this, but my computer has been freezing up at the point where it says "Starting Windows". Sometimes I can get in using Safe Mode, but sometimes even then it has frozen up.

It may take awhile for me to get back to you.

Do you think it would be best for me to do a re-install?

It sounds like you may have a hardware problem?

Check your RAM using memtest86++ and see if that's the problem.

Hi Noel. I was having difficulty working on Safe Mode so I used System Restore. I then went back and redid what you suggested. Here are the CheckSUR logs again. I will now try the SFC / Scannow.

Attachment 286645 Here is the CBS log after the SFC / Scannow. I think all the corrupted files have been repaired.

I'm not sure I understand how to use memtest86+. Could you refer me to a site that would explain it clearly step by step?
