    Nobody seems to have noticed that the Key in your report is the Default Key for Windows - which can never be activated.

    You need tto change the Key to a valid one, and then activate that.

    Nic, check at Computer>Properties that you are now Activated after inserting the Product Key as instructed.

    Thanks all - it seems the saga is over. After putting in my code I then had a message on my desktop that it wasn't an original version. I ran MGADiag.exe again and that seemed to solve the problem.

    Gregrocker I checked the properties and it said it was activated + provided a product ID.

    There is still a problem present.


    Close all openwindows.

    Open an ElevatedCommand Prompt window, and type the following command



    wusa /uninstall /kb:971033



    and hit the Enterkey

    Accept thewarnings/confirmations, and wait for it to complete



    copy and paste theoutput (if any) from the command prompt window to a reply here,

    Reboot



    reinstall the updatefrom http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971033

    Reboot



    run another MGADiagreport, and post it.
