The easiest thing is to try the MS Fixits in order. If the 1st one resolve the issue, then you don't need to run the 2nd one.

[Run Now]: Automatically diagnose and repair Windows Update issues that Windows Update doesn’t work or fails because Windows Update is broken or disabled.

[[Run Now]: Diagnose and fix Windows security settings for IE, Windows firewall, group policy, Registry, UAC; check Windows Update and antivirus software status.

I just noticed that in your snapshot, there isn't anything showing in the left pane.

Do other items show up correctly in Control Panel? It might not be Windows update.

If the MS Fixit did not correct the issue, follow option two in this tutorial to check system file integerity:

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    OPTION TWO

To Run the SFC /SCANNOW Command in Windows 7

This is what I see that could cause the problem.

    From the OP's Specs.
    Motherboard MSI

To the best of my knowledge MSI does not make a motherboard for ACER or ALASKA

I would suggest this is a counterfeit installation of Windows 7 Ultimate.

The installation is counterfeit - as the Bear has already growled :)

MSI may make boards for Acer - but they are always properly branded. This one is not, and is a retail board.

(Alaska is an Intel Chipset spec, I think?)

Thanks for your keen eys Layback and for your confirmation Noel.

Renfort, you will have to obtain a legal version of Windows if you want members to help resolve issues on your machine.
