It's not good to push yourself to fatigue because this causes mistakes.

I'd hew as closely as possible to these same steps for Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 to assure a perfect install based on what works best for Win7 in countless installs we've helped with here.

If you'd like me to connect to set up your install as given then install Free TeamViewer Download at all defaults and PM back to me the ID and password. You can Skype me during install at greg rocker.
Sorry. Yes, I am exhausted but it's too late. Windows 7 is installed...also antivirus, firewall, SAS and MBAM, Firefox and my email program.

That's it. As far as TeamViewer is concerned, I try it in the morning.

    Thanks a bunch.

I will follow the advise given me and move this to Update Forum.

    oops, no Skype here.

Did the Updates install this time? Try smaller groups.

On my main computer- the one shown in the specs here, the last two updates did not install. Also the restore was not successful. When I am told to restart it boots to that light blue screen - no mouse- no nothin'.

The other computer has 132 updates waiting to be installed. That has never been a problem before the last 21 updates.

I am going to move this to Updates.

    Still fighting the battle.

I did install the last two updates on my main computer by downloading them from Microsoft and they actually worked.

On the second one on which I reinstalled Win 7- I'm still working on it. Heck it's only taking 3 days.

Yes, I am learning to HATE Windows 7.

On patch Tuesday, I downloaded 24 updates.

Afterwards, I received a message that the Malicious Software Removal Tool did not install.

I checked installed Update History and found the Malicious Software Removal Tool installed successfully.

    Very interesting.

This has been one heck of a update exercise.

I'm not done yet. The computer that I reinstalled 7 on is still configuring windows on after 2 days.

Did you wipe the HD or at least delete all partitions during a booted install then do nothing else other than enable Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3) to run all rounds of Important and Optional WIndows Updates?

The reason I ask is I've not seen the same corruption repeat on a wiped or deleted HD unless something was also done during setup that could adversely affect Updates.

I did wipe the drive and no, I set it to download the updates and then I would install.

It ignored my instructions and was ready on shutdown to install 65 updates.

Are the Updates installing okay now?

    How is performance otherwise?
