Looks as though CheckSUR might have fixed it.
No, leave CheckSUR on your machine.

The wait a while was in reference to ther status of this thread on sevenforums. I suggested waiting a few days to see if you get the message again. If the problem does not reoccur, then please mark the thread "SOLVED".

OK so does that mean the problem was resolved somehow, or wasn't really an issue in the first place?

Shall I wait a while and then uninstall this program?

    You're welcome.

You could add to Noel's reputation by clicking here or on the scales in his post
It was Noel that directed you to CheckSUR, I provided support while he was at the pub

No I only scanned that download, whcih was about half a gig. Took over 15 minutes!

Anyway I have apparently installed it, whatever it is. I can't see any shortcuts to it. Do I need to run it or just install it and then run sfc /scannow?
CheckSUR is simply a tool - it doesn't actually install, but it uses the installer mechanisms built into Windows to check registry entries and the relevant files. When it finds problems, it reports them, and attempts to repair them - if they are fixed, it reports that too.
There is nothing to uninstall :)

Your report shows only the 'normal' errors that MS created when they backported IE10 for Windows 7 - and have never bothered to fix, so it found nothing amiss.

Have you run the SFC yet? If so, please post the log file C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log - you'll have to copy it to the desktop first and compress it from there, as it can't be manipulated directly.

No issues so far but I just came back to find my screen completely white, and I had to ctrl+alt+del and shut down chrome and firefox to get it back to normality. Like the BSOD but white maybe. It's fine now. Maybe happened because I stepped on my keyboard while cleaning, no idea...

    [confused]
Why did you have both FF and Chrome running? that can be a recipe for conflicts!
