    Tinpot,

    Is is possible for you to explain to me the solution again? I have been facing the same problem and it's causing a lot of discomfort. I see the cbs folder but there is no cbs.log inside it. There are .cbs files but they're not opening with notepad. I am totally confused, please help out!

    probably a similar problem

    Hi guys, i'm new here, but i encountered (what i think is) a similar problem.

    I tried all the basic stuff (SURT and windows diagnostic tool) but nothing worked. So I tried to check the CBS log and this is what I got.

    2018-05-15 14:00:47, Error CSI 0000000d (F) STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_NOT_FOUND #148373# from Windows::Rtl::SystemImplementation:irectRegistryProvider::SysOpenKey(flg = 0, key = {provider=NULL, handle=0}, da = (KEY_READ|DELETE|KEY_WOW64_64KEY), oa = @0xf3cf30->OBJECT_ATTRIBUTES {s:48; rd:NULL; on:[218]"\Registry\Machine\COMPONENTS\DerivedData\VersionedIndex\6.1.7601.18766 (win7sp1_gdr.150217-1551)\ComponentFamilies\amd64_microsoft-windows-m..ionengine.resources_31bf3856ad364e35_ja-jp_084dad8f2400d451\v!6.1.7600.16385"; aOBJ_CASE_INSENSITIVE)}, disp = Unmapped disposition: 15979256 (0x00f3d2f8))[gle=0xd0000034]
    2018-05-15 14:00:47, Error CSI 0000000e@2018/5/15:05:00:47.355 (F) d:\win7sp1_gdr\base\wcp\sil\merged\ntu\ntsystem.cpp(3676): Error STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_NOT_FOUND originated in function Windows::Rtl::SystemImplementation:irectRegistryProvider::SysOpenKey expression: (null)
    [gle=0x80004005]

    In this case I think the amd64_microsoft-windows-m..ionengine* registry has the problem.

    What I don't get is what to do from here.

    Thanks in advance.

    I read the entire thread which is a few years old now, and I noted a few things that can help here. For one, if you ever need to edit the registry and delete a stubborn key you can use the program Runassystem available here: Free Windows IT admin Tools - AprelTech

    Granted there is a command that was written about here that I never knew about, but I like a GUI App to do things and I just don't care for entering commands or even Linux terminal commands.

    Another method to editing the registry is what was mentioned. Using a live CD to load the registry hives and edit it in that environment free from the OS. You can use Hiren's boot CD and use Registry Editor PE.

    F22 Simpilot

    Thanks for the info. I'll take a look at the link you send and see if I can make it work here.
