    Change in Version Activation

I have a Xplore ix104C4 tablet that was having problems and I bought and installed a new version of Windows 7 Home Premium. The Tablet originally had Vista but was currently running 7 when I got it. I was still having problems after the clean install of 7 so I sent it in to Xplore for service. Xplore is replacing the hard drive and will at my request install Windows 7. The version that they will install is Pro and they said they cannot activate it. So what is my best course of action when I get it back. Do I have to purchase a new full version of 7 Pro. Can I do a Anytime Upgrade?

No - you will need to reformat and reinstall your licensed version of WIndows.

Xplore is only legally allowed to reinstall the operating system with which the unit originally shipped.
It should therefore come back with Vista on it, and you will need to carry out the same upgrade as previously.
The same media nd Key can be used for this purpose as you used the last time.

They are putting 7 on it. Part of the reason I returned the tablet was that I couldn't get all the drivers to work especially the touchscreen drivers after reinstalling the operating system. I could put my good copy of Windows 7 Home Premium on it when I get it back but I hate to again have problems with drivers etc.
