The line-break from the forum produced a spurious space in there - please try again, now that I've corrected for it with the code box.

Oops - my fault the last error - but it doesn't matter, as it'll unload naturally when it wants to :)

    I've uploaded a file - erwad.zip - to my SkyDrive at Noel's SkyDrive
Please download and save it to your desktop.
Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Save it to the default location
This should create a file prnxx002.reg

right-click on the file, and select Merge
Accept the warnings, - you should then get a 'Success' message.
    Close all windows, and reboot.

Then run CheckSUR again and we'll see if it did what it was supposed to do.

I extracted file prnxx002.reg to the desktop and ran it.

    CheckSUR result:

    Great!
That's clear now as well :)

Reboot again, and see if SP1 will install now.

The good news is that Error Code 800736B3 is gone. but SP1 failed to install and a new error Code 80073712 is coming up.

Should I close this thread as resolved for Error Code 800736B3 and open a new one for 80073712?

OK -- post the new CBS folder complete, as I want to have a look at the SP1install data which has probably been archived.

Did you run the install from Windows Updates, or from the standalone download?
if from WU, try running from the download...
    http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...MSP1.1_DVD.iso

(It's a general purpose download, so it's 1.9GB! - and contains every current version of Windows 7 SP1).
