The Short DST Fail result almost certainly means that your drive is failing - The Seagate test should have told you the model number of your drive, so please start it again, and post that so we can point you in the direction of the proper tester, which may give more detail on the type of failure we're looking at.

'DST' means Drive Self Test - and that failing means that even the drive itself isn't certain of its status, and it's likely that the problem is nor fixable by software. However, it could be the result of a cable problem, problems with the drive itself, or problems with the motherboard. Hopefully, using the correct tool will give us enough data to decide which is more likely.

Your drive is almost certainly going to fail completely in the near future.
You need to replace it as soon as possible.

Nothing to fix a disk that is about to die - replacing it is the only solution.

Whatever we do now, the drive is likely to fail soon. You MUST back up your data to external media immediately (and keep the backups current) while you plan for replacing the drive.
I would recommend a clean install on the replacement drive, as the existing problems are likely to be extremely difficult to fix.
