That may be because the WSUS server has deprecated the IE10 update in favour of the IE11 one - or perhaps the Admin has decided that both are too complex for the general run of systems in the domain.

I'll review the logs tomorrow - it's too late tonight

I control the WSUS server. I have not made any changes to it since we have started and I have not pulled IE11 yet. Let me know what you think. Thanks!!

Here's the error sequence from the IE10_main log...

It's still trying to install that KB package

For some reason the test file is being declared to the installer as being the original SP1 file, rather than an updated one
Please check the version number of the file itself, using explorer.

I'll have a look and see if I can find out where the data is stored, and how to approach this type of error.

I am guessing that you are asking for the version of KB2834140? I can confirm that version 2 is installed. What would happen if I were to do a repair and install that update first? Do you think that could make any difference?

I need th detail version number of the file in that location - C:\Windows\System32\d3d11.dll.
Open Windows Explorer and find the file - right-click on it and select Properties, then click on the Details tab.
What file version number is showing?

Something is obviously restoring that version of the file after replacement.
This is probably happening on reboot - possibly as a result of malware.
I have to admit to being stumped on this one

I'm going to call for assistance - someone may have some good ideas about a solution.

    Please download AdwCleaner:
    http://general-changelog-team.fr/fr/downloads/finish/20-outils-de-xplode/2-adwcleaner
    Save to the desktop.

    Close all open programs.
To run the program, right-click AdwCleaner.exe and select: Run as Administrator

Click on Search and confirm the prompt.
After the program finishes, a text file report opens.
Please post the content of the C:\AdwCleaner[Rx].txt in your reply. In the reply window click the "#" icon at the top and paste the log text between the [code ] Paste Here [ /code] tags.

Do NOT perform the delete part before I or someone else can read the log.

    ========================================================================================

    To delete:

    Run AdwCleaner once again.
    This time click on: Delete
When done, please post the content of the C:\AdwCleaner[Sx].txt in your reply as outlined above..

OK you're fairly clean except for those registry entries which may be leftovers. Re run Adwcleaner and do the delete part. It may tell you it is outdated, it's constantly updated, so download the newer version if needed. Post the log from that as well.

Is this the PC you are working with?
Is it on a school's network?
Can IE10 install successfully on other PCs on this network?

I'm not at all knowledgeable on the WSUS, but do you need to give it some kind of permission to install IE10?
