    windows update failure cod 800B0001

    hi
i cannot update windows 7 sp1 . it is showing the error code 800B0001 . the last updates shown were almost 5 months ago.this system is part of a domain and all updates are applied through sccm client. however on this particular system when we go to control panel and click "Configuration Manager" in the connection type it is showing as unknown. (same as shown in this link )

i have tried uninstalling it and reboot and reinistall .. no luck.

i ran sfc /scannow 4 times and rebooted after each scan .. but each time it gave me error that. is shown below.

i also ran update readiness tool and i think in its log files reports no problem . it is attached . its name is checksur.log

besides i also tried a lot of Microsoft Fixit tools and non worked.

i am attaching CBS log file in rar format.

any help ? any solution ?

    thanks

Odd - that's the second time this week that someone's posted a clear CBS.log while the CMD screen shows errors! - as you say, CheckSUR is clear (was in the other thread, too, if I remember right!)

    Please post the c:\Windows\windowsupdate.log file

I will upload the above log file as soon as i get to the pc.

As we are using SCCM to update windows and the configuration manager was showing in connection type unknown and also various tabs of configuration manager didn't matched to those of ok systems. So after googling I got a hint that cryptographic files might be corrupt and there were commands to re-register them. And doing so those failed. I will post the exact files and the error screenshots.

    Thanks

here is the windows update log file.

should a repair installation of windows solve this issue ?( choosing upgrade during install ) ?
also that system has bitlocker setup .
    regards

Interesting error there - I would have expected that to be shown up in either SFC or (more likely) CheckSUR.

    Try this first.

    Open an Elevated Command Prompt
    Run the following commands

    NET STOP WUAUSERV
    REN C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution SDOLD
    NET START WUAUSERV

    wait 15 minutes, and reboot
then wait 10 minutes, and open Windows Updates, and run a Check for Updates.

Install only the oldest update found - and reboot once installed
then go back to Windows updates and install the others.

I think I have a bit of change.
Though I was getting same error when I clicked check for update. But on clicking online update it went ahead and found update I selected few of the oldest updates that amount to approx 11mb but it is now downloading them. Approximately 5% done .bur it's painfully slow.

We are using SCCM for updates.

The last few updates that i selected as i mentioned in my previous post are installed. But it seems that only online updates are installed.
    It's not updating from SCCM.

My knowledge of SCCM is extremely limited ... in fact almost totally non-existent.

I'll have to do some research - if you can point me at some relevant sites, that would be useful!
