P.S. The **manual** fix to the problem is - when Word hangs - close -
then stop the printer spooler in Services
then open Word
then start printer spooler again
then Word will print
be nice tho to have it work automatically
the printer spooler seems to retain a lot of print jobs - when I rebooted a while back - it printed out four previous jobs as well as the new one I gave it
There's obviously a problem in the registry with that service..
I'll do some research and get back to you.

Please open an Elevated COmmand Prompt, and run the following command...
REG EXPORT HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Spooler %userprofile%\desktop\spooler.txt
This will create a file on your desktop - spooler.txt - which you can upload to your reply.
There's only one very minor change from the standard entry there, which shouldn't cause any problems at all.
(the DisplayName value is in plain English, rather than a link - it's never made any difference on any service I've done that to)
Perhaps we should check out the other entries in the registry...
