    Hi Andrew,

I am the friend that helps her. She had a Support person through Norton help her for a Norton problem and he did a System Restore, and in the course of System Restore, Internet Explorer disappeared from Programs and Features - Installed Windows Hotfixes.

I have it in Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit service Pack 1 computer listed there, but not in hers. So I can't click in Installed Windows Hotfixes to remove Internet Explorer 11 from the computer.

Where would I find the Uninstall Program File for Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit Service Pack 1? Especially when not listed under Installed Windows Updates.

By the way, Internet Explorer 11, is no longer an option, but listed as an Important Hotfix. (Responding from Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3, right now) And the 64-Bit version of Internet Explorer 11 never gets installed as part of the process. When Internet Explorer 10 was released, there was a 64-Bit version, but not with Internet Explorer 11.

1.) So you have done this?

How to Uninstall Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7: 7 Steps

    And it was not listed?

2.) Try doing the steps I listed here first:

Cannot do update for Windows please see attachment

    3.) Restart the PC.
Then download the full installer file for internet explorer 11 here:

Download Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 from Official Microsoft Download Center

That is the link for the default x32 bit version.

But download the x64 bit edition if its a 64bit machine:

Download Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 64-bit Edition and Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit Edition from Official Microsoft Download Center

    Hi Andrew,

Sfc /scannow found nothing wrong. See Sfc Result.

See failed update for the initial reason for this problem. This was taken after running Windows Update Reset.bat downloaded and ran as Administrator.

blank box is attached for a related problem, in the fact that Windows Features is blank on her computer, otherwise I could use it to uncheck Internet Explorer 11 from Windows Features and reinstall it that way.

Downloaded Internet Explorer 11 - 64-Bit on her computer, but received the message that a newer version is installed on her computer. About Internet Explorer 11 does not show that the 64-Bit is installed at all.

With all those issues then, I suggest a Repair Install

    Or a clean install.

    Hi Andrew,

Her Internal DVD Recorder / Player was not working correctly, nor an external DVD Recorder, she brought, so it took a while, but I found Magic ISO Virtual CD/DVD at Freeware MagicISO Virtual CD/DVD-ROM(MagicDisc) Overview and I was able to load the downloaded Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit Service Pack 1 Repair DVD in ISO format and loaded fine. I also uninstalled Norton and iTunes.

And I did a Clean Install using msconfig. I installed Virtual DVD while in the Clean Install mode. Did all this going through LogMeIn.

Maybe this information may help others.
