Noel mentioned Win8 and Win7. Did the laptop ship with Win8 and you downgraded to Win7. If so, how did you downgrade - a disc?

I read some things too quickly re: Win8 and I lost closed the browser window, so I lost the page. It was in reference to the where Win8 stores teh SLP key, so it might not apply here.

I find it hard to believe that there is no COA sticker. Please check again - make sure you look in the battery compartment under the battery.

Do not post the key itself, but do state what product is on the key (Win8 pro...Win7 Pro)

If you downgraded from disc, yes the key might be on the disc.

Keep calling home - someone is bound to answer at some point :)

    Thanks,

Only triple checked? Only every inch? :)

Thanks for looking again, I hope it's on the disc or packaging.

I think you said that you tried the temporary key in Noel's post, but the response came back as invalid.

When i was looking for "Where does Toshiba hide the COA sticker" I saw more than a few references to "There's no COA sticker on the machine, just Toshiba's codes and Product IDs"

That's news to me. Maybe it's a Toshiba thing or maybe it's a Win8 thing. It might be a Win8 Pro with downgrade rights thing. Now I'm curious...

I'm back to the sidelines... I'm not helping solve the issue. I have enjoyed our conversation though

Machines which shipped with Win8 have no CAO sticker - they have the Win8 sticker instead. Such machines can ONLY be downgraded to Win7 with the manufacturer's Recovery media, as the approved license is an OEM_SLP Key, which requires the manufacturer's media in conjunction with the BIOS SLIC table for self-activation.

The 063 error indicates that that the software licenses required from the manufacturer's media are missing - which is why the COA Key if it existed would be required. Since there is no Win 7 COA, there is nothing we can do in this forum - the only solution is to reformat and reinstall using the manufacturer's Recovery media for Win7 (or Win8)
