you mean thats the way WU doesent work lol it shouldnt work this way

yea MS wants you to install silverlight and bing but I hate them, Silverlight wont work for amazon prime videos it is total crap but flash works fine however if you have silverlight installed its really hard to get it to play with flash - there is a button that is sosposta let you do this but it often does nothing so I ended up uninstalling silverlight

lets face it MS has never been compliant with any standards for the internet thats why IE sucked for so many years (and still does IMO) they tried to don something different and acted surprised when it didnt work

I dont know maybe its just another things Gates is doing to try to control the world

Ya know that MS is a business right? They see an opportunity and engineer a solution that they can market or that drives users to their other products.

re: compliant with standards. They have to be, otherwise stuff wouldn't work. MS invests a lot of time trying to make sure that standards include MS revisions. Every development company does this. Many of the stds include MS revisions and Mozilla revisions and IBM revisions, and.....

Developing software for a billion users is tough - everybody wants their thing fixed or changed.

Browsers are a personal choice.... I think they go through phases. IE works better than FF, then FF works better than IE. They all play catch up with the others, but MS has an OS that is tied closely with it's browser, so it affects more when it goes south.

    I use both.

I do agree with not installing either Bing, or Bang, or Bong and Silver Light. I've seen only MS sites say they need Silver Light anyway, so I don't need to see them, or anything that wants Java. SL is MS's attempt at replacing Java, an outdated platform.

And yes, whether you think it's right or not, MS offers new version of their software. Many "regular" updates are updates of other updates, or maybe a roll-up of several. IF someone dislikes Windows, no one is required to use it.

IE wasnt sticking to standards until about IE8 or so, before that HTML was broken on some pages even though it was written correctly IE just implemented it incorrectly, now I know the acid test isnt really accurate to real world uses but it wasnt until IE8 I think that it was even able to pass that

and what I was saying is exactly that things didnt work, I tried it on many pages and CSS was just broken if the coder didnt specifically put something in there for IE, something that wasnt in the original specifications and isnt needed - web pages would be all messed up looking cuz of the colors werent being implemented properly and the spacing was off cuz again IE didnt know how to deal with it, but wouldnt you know all other browsers at the time it worked fine with

MS is wasting time trying to make standards compliant to them rather they should just follow what was done before and what works

but this has gotten off topic so I am done here, thanks for all your help like I said before this forums always has great support, thanks again
