reinstall after WUBI Xubuntu live CD install screwed up MBR

I installed Xubuntu using a live install Cd alongside my OEM win7 ultimate, which was at that time gnuine. It screwed up the Win7 MBR so I formatted and reinstalled,I recovered the OEM code with a product key finder and what I think is th product code.
Running MGAdiag shows the installation is genuine but when I us the code that Speccy shows
    the win genuine activation fails!!

Why did you format??? Only a rewrite of MBR boot code was enough. "startup repair" can do that. Or bootrec/fixmbr from recovery environment.

source Windows 7 OEM SLP Key Collection is that the key you entered? If so.... enter the product key that's on COA sticker instead

The installation is counterfeit - you are using an OEM_SLP Key on a system built in 2007.
OEM_SLP Keys are ONLY valid for machines designed and shipped with Windows 7
The BIOS SLIC table is for Vista - but the machine appears to have been shipped originally with XP (according to what I can find on the HP site about the Compaq dx2200 MT model)
    .

You need to reformat and reinstall using genuine media and Key.

    Hi all
The desktop was bought via internet from a man who buys/repairs pc's,all I can tell you is at the time it was bought win7 functioned perfectly and was activated as genuine. There is/wasno sticker on the PC and it was not something I bothered about, until now!!!!
why did it show in the report that it is /was genuine??
I screwed up my wifes laptop in the same way as the desktop
For my wife's laptop I have an old system copy can i recover the coa from that???
The reason I formatted was that using the "mini partition tool" the MBR repair was not available and i also tried using GAG to boot but that was overwritten again by the grub2 so I dumped all of it and obviously any chance of the original coa,the oem key i did recover and indeed used the key on mydigital life assuming that would solve the problem
Now I guess its a new CD fom amazon or wherever

grub2 will overwrite to MBR when installing linux (ubuntu). But the linux boot menu (grub2) shows win7 in the win7 as well. So what is the problem?
    ---------------
Situation now is win7 succesfully installed and no problems in "device manager" (apparaatbeheer) ... correct? ubuntu installed as well?

If there was no COA sticker for Windows 7, and you didn't receive a PoL card and associated Install Disks with the computer, then the installation of Windows was counterfeit in the first place.

Nothing we can do here is ever going to change that - and if there is no Windows sticker at all on the machine then you will have to purchase a new Full License for whatever OS you want to install.

How long ago was the purchase? Can you claim under some kind of warranty?
You need to claim a full refund (at least to the value of a replacement OS) - and broadcast the circumstances to the vendors other customers.
