Browser Problems after Windows update 13 Feb 2014

    Hey

I was wondering if anyone else is having problems with their browsers, (seemingly regardless of what browser is used) after the latest update, specificly I'm getting problems with loading pages, some pages the first time it tries to load the page it will either give a page not found, or it will only load the text and images of the site, giving me a wall of blue text on white background with a few images. However just pressing update makes the page load fine afterwards. The only change that has happened on my computer is the windows 7 update, specificly it has installed.

    KB2901118
    KB2898864
    KB2916036
    KB2912390
    KB2911501
    KB2909921
    KB2909210
    KB2901112
    KB2898857
    KB2862973
    KB2843630

All this was done automaticly via windows update.
I have run an sfc /scannow that checks out with no integrity errors.
I have also noted that some of the people commenting on this page:

Patch Tuesday February 2014: 7 Updates Correcting 31 Security Issues

seem to have the same problem

My primary browser is Chrome, have tested with internet explorer though and it gets the same problems, though it appears to be a bit random, however it didn't happen at all before update.

Yes, I have been having trouble with the Opera Browser. All I did was install some updates and restart the laptop and when I went to boot Opera up it kept crashing. I had to uninstall and reinstall it but I had to make sure the program files that downloaded with the browser were all deleted.

So try and uninstall and reinstall the browser.

    Hope this helps.

nope, reinstalling did not help, I'm looking around, and from what I can gather on a few chat rooms as well, the problem is slowly but surely emerging amongst more and more, I wonder what these updates did that is causing this.

Had 20 updates recently and did all of them at once. After rebooting - none of my browsers, or any programs that require a browser as part of it's application worked. Ended up doing a system restore. Today I slowly walked through the updates and after repeated updates - and a couple of System Restore - I isolated the problem to KB2912390. This update affects all browsers and was unable to get them to work.

You should check your system for existing malware - it sounds like it could already be infected with something, and it's this that's breaking things with the update.

Browser Problems after Windows update 13 Feb 2014

My IE9 would not load Yahoo! Homepage. I dinked with my computer for several hours...even going so far as trying to install a new IE9. Then- when I tried to do that, the install program said I already had the latest version, and could not install it again.

I talked with a friend who fortunately is a computer whiz. He said to go to any Favorite, and try to click on Help>About Internet Explorer...then see what I had. I did this, and noticed, in parenthses: KB2909921.

On a lark, I uninstalled that update, and I am able to load Yahoo! Homepage. What the hell is Microsoft doing...offering updates that harm your computer!!! C'mon Microsoft, git' yer' sh** together!
