Microsoft is going to have to issue a windows service pack two by download and on cd or dvds.
Otherwise, it wouldn't fit the lifecycle guidelines.

If you go by that Windows 7 service pack 1 support should end in February or March of 2014 but I know they won't do that. There are a lot of places that still sell new computers with windows 7 with & without service pack 1 installed.

Technically, the retail company shouldn't of sold me this new system with windows 7 service pack 1 installed or should of provided a windows 8 or windows 8.1 upgrade dvd disk with the system purchase. MS doesn't enforce that, I don't think they can free enterprise in the U.S.How long can retailers sell a prior version of Windows?
We will continue to allow retailers to sell the previous version of Windows for a year after the launch date of the new version.
