Let's start with some elementary troubleshooting...

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

Then please download and install Belarc Advisor from www.belarc.com - run it, then save the output as a MHT file
Please then send it to me as a Private Message - it does contain confidential information, which should not be uploaded as an attachment in open forums.

Yes the SP1 update does apply to Office 2013 Home & Student. Firstly check that you have automatic updating selected. To do that open one of your Office programs, such as Excel, & select "File" up the top left hand corner, then select "Account", when that opens you will see "Office Updates" alongside that will tell you whether 'Updates are automatically downloaded & installed". If so then it will tell you what version you are using. If you click on "Update Options" & select "View Updates" it will take you to the MS Office website.
If you compare your version number with those listed you will be able to see whether the update is applicable to you.

I am using Office 2013 Pro & so far the update has not come through for mine, but the SP1 update was released I think on the 25th Feb. Apparently the updates will become available over a month from that date, so I am waiting until the end of March to see if mine comes through, rather that rush in & download it now. So it may be best for you to wait for a while & see if it comes through automatically.

If it's Home & Student 2013, then yes, it should do - which is why I asked for the data.

Service Packs generally apply to ALL editions of any given system.
