.NET 3.5 is part ofWindows 7 - so we can't use the usual trick of uninstalling/cleaning it out.

There are a mass of what appear to be simple download failures in the update log file - but nothing informative in the CBS.log file
These failures relate to updates as early as KB2862973.

Please run the CheckSUR tool, and post the CheckSUR.log file

Please download and save the CheckSUR tool from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821
(you'll need to look in the details for Windows 7, downloading from the Microsoft Download Center)

Run it - The tool can take anywhere from 5 mins to a couple of hours to run (or 'Install') depending on how much it has to do, and may exit silently - it may appear to freeze for most of that time, but be patient.
The result is logged in the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log file - and an archive …\checksur.persist.log file

Then zip the CheckSUR.log and upload it to your reply.

There's nothing amiss in the CheckSUR log.
Please run a Check for Updates - then attempt to install ONLY the oldest update found - what error message do you get? post the new windowsupdate.log file.

    Hi, NoelDP

I ran update standalone installer following the link your have directed and in result prompted: Some updates were not installed. The following updates were not installed "Security Update for Windows (KB2862973)".

I then go to Security Updates for Windows 7 for x64-based System (KB2862973) for this only update, but it failed.

Attached current Windows Update Log for any help.

    Thank you

You appear to have Advansed System Care installed?
    Code:
    2014-03-21 09:58:44:161 2924 838 Misc = Process: C:\Program Files (x86)\IObit\Advanced SystemCare 7\AutoCare.exe
This is almost certainly the cause of your problems.
You should uninstall it completely, then run a repair install to correct the many errors it will have made.
