    Win 7 x64 SP1 and Update Tool 800B0100

    Hi,

I cannot install the SP1 x64 and automatic updates also show the same error-codes
    Error on SP1 installation : TRUST_E_NOSIGNATURE(0x800b0100)
    Update error : Code 800B0100

I tried several fixes, update readiness tool, reinstalled Win7 (it was anyway a new installation) but nothing solved my problem.

The hardware setup wasn't changed before the installation.

Logs are in the attached file

Please, could someone help me to fix those problems.

    Thanks!

I'll try and post a fix protocol tonight - but I'm not sure how well it will work, as the affected update is actually the one for Windows Update itself, and it may eventually require a repair install to fix it.

    I've uploaded a file - dc7aa.zip - to my OneDrive at Noel's OneDrive
    Please download and save it.
Right-click on the downloaded file, and select Extract all…
Extract to the default location - which will create a new folder dc7aa in the same place.
Open this folder - there should be two folders inside it (Manifests, and Packages)

Copy the content of the Packages folder to the folder
    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

And the content of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into this folder:

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

Now run the CheckSUR tool again (it may take a while)

Post the new CheckSUR.log file, and the CheckSUR.persist.log file.

I'll check and see what I can come up with - I though I'd got at least the language-neutral ones right!

    Aaaarrrggghh!
I gave you the wrong versions - still, the CheckSUR realised and stopped me from doing anything nasty!

Let me try again... back soon.

    Here are the new logfiles.

    SP1 still error 0x800f081

Windows Update found about 1 billion updates.

I think we're on the right way ;-)

Great - CheckSUR is clear, now.

Please run an SFC /SCANNOW and post the (compressed) CBS.log file, and we'll check that there are no other major problems.
