    Reinstalled Windows XP home, can't download updates


    I have reformatted a PC with windows XP home SP2 on it. Also has IE 6, and I can't get download Windows updates. I get the message, "The website has encounted a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view..." I tried to upgrade IExplorer but having a hard time.

    I thought XP was dead with updates, I re installed XP for a friend 4 or 5 months back and had the same issue, but I didn`t pursue it that much, would love to hear what you did.

    You can still get previously released updates, just no new ones.

Strange on this , The update file says no update done , but I have done them manually and can see them . Also when I do a normal search it just searches for ages ,but finds nothing ... I have downloaded the fixit tool and various other solutions , but no luck to date ... when I look at properties...
